The City of Rancho Santa Margarita is recognized universally as being a family-friendly community. In fact, in the late 80’s and early 90’s, the majority of developers focused their marketing plans to appeal to young adults, newlyweds and those with growing families - and they were successful. In response to builder campaigns touting Rancho Santa Margarita as the ideal place to raise a family, the twenty-somethings and thirty-somethings rushed to the builder sales offices to select their homes.
RSM residents and residents in the surrounding communities jokingly referred to the Santa Margarita Parkway bridge as “fertility bridge.” It was common knowledge that those moving to Rancho Santa Margarita had better be prepared for parenthood.
The community of Rancho Santa Margarita is approximately twenty years old now. Many of area’s original settlers are now grandparents and still many more are looking toward “grandparenthood” in the near future. Young families relocating to Rancho Santa Margarita still find it to be one of the best and most affordable communities in South Orange County.
Families are an integral part of what makes Rancho Santa Margarita such a wonderful place to live. I think it’s only fitting to ask a special blessing for all RSM mothers. So ladies, God Bless and Happy Mother’s Day!
